OUR STORY

2024

THE FOUNDATION

What started as a response to the current media landscape as it pertained to HBCUs and the coverage of events and activities that surrounded them. Originally commissioned by Thomas Staples as HBCU HYPE in July 2024 was reimagined as 107 HYPE in September 2024

2025

DIGITAL FIRST

Recognizing the need for centralized digital media coverage, we launched our first live-stream during the homecoming celebration of Tennessee State University, with the goal of bringing campus culture to screens worldwide.

2027

THE 107FUND LAUNCH

We are working toward formalizing our commitment to the community by launching the 107Fund, ensuring that our growth directly supports the next generation of HBCU leaders.

2028

MEDIA EXPANSION

Today, 107HYPE serves as the premier digital hub for all 107 Historically Black Colleges and Universities, partnering with major brands to celebrate our legacy.
